About Two-Eight Records

I got my first record player when I was 5. Still remember it. Was in the shape of a ladybug, and you could remove her wings to reveal the deck and needle. I used to love listening to albums. Superman read-alongs, Winkin Blinkin and Nod, Cheech and Chong, Beatles, Buddy Holly.

When I was 12 I got a JVC ghetto blaster from my grandma…damn. Heavy, bulky, with a 3 band graphic equalizer display. Ice-T, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash. Would listen to that thing every day, every night, every chance I had. Pack it around on my shoulder, and drag it to school everyday so I could break dance my ass off during recess and lunch. Yah, I was THAT GUY…

Then a walkman at 14. Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Dayglo Abortions, Red Hot Chilli Peppers. And a CD player at 18. Nirvana!

An MD player at 23. Propagandhi, Rage Against The Machine. MP3 player around 29. Piebald, Get Up Kids, Weezer.

Then one day I realized, it wasn’t the machine, it was the music, the bands, the sounds, the emotions involved…That’s when I realized that I wanted to bring that to people.

Music. Emotion. two-eight records
